PREMIUM TAX SERVICE

Kentucky Premium Tax Analysis.
The service utilizes the most comprehensive parcel-based geocoding system of its kind, a geographic database of up-to-date and historical information on boundaries for municipalities and counties. The system combines such boundary information with current U.S. Census boundary data and premium tax information from the corresponding State Department of Insurance, enabling CoreLogic to quickly and accurately determine policyholders' premium taxes. Utilizing premium and tax data from insurers, our application can then compare taxes charged to the correct amount of premium taxes, and confirm they were paid to the correct municipal district. The CoreLogic service generates for insurers a comprehensive premium-tax report that includes:
- 10 Character Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS code)
- Name of the lowest level taxing authority
- Special tax district code (City and footnotes from the Kentucky DOI premium tax schedule)
- Tax rate by line by line of business
- Actual versus charged tax comparisons
Additionally, analysis can be performed by our tax experts to provide the insurer a reason code for each over/under charge.
